Applied Technology Council
(ATC)
This is a nonprofit corporation established in 1971 through
the efforts SEAOC. ATC’s mission is to develop state-of-the-art,
user-friendly engineering resources and applications for use
in mitigating the effects of natural and other hazards on the
built environment.
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
Founded in 1852, ASCE represents more than 123,000 civil engineers
worldwide, and is America’s oldest national engineering
society.
Structural Engineering Institute
These are semi-autonomous institute of ASCE, created in 1996
when ASCE combined its then Structures Division and Building
Standards Council.
Architectural Engineering Institute
Construction Specifications Institute (CSI)
National professional association that provides technical information
and products, continuing education, professional conferences,
and product shows to enhance communication among nonresidential
building design and construction industry disciplines and to
meet the industry’s need for a common system of organizing
and presenting construction documents.
